Imany began her professional life in New York as a model. The events of September 11, 2001, changed everything and forced the Frenchwoman of Comorian origin to string together a series of odd jobs. Tired of that life, a few years later Imany threw herself wholeheartedly into music. It turned out to be a wise choice for the young woman, who can now boast of having composed two albums (The Shape of a Broken Heart in 2011 and The Wrong Kind of War this year) and a film soundtrack (Sous la jupe des filles).
