The clever 21 year old Elodie lives with her parents and brother near Zürich. She has finished her training as a children's educator. Before she starts her new job she wants to fulfill a long awaited dream of four week hiking tour in Scotland. However, on the way to the airport she is hit by an car. The doctors tell her that she will live the rest of her life in a wheelchair.
